About Human First

Helping people show up better—at work, and in life.

What would it take to make work better and more human for everyone? It’s not like there’s a magic wand that can be waved to suddenly transform all work cultures to make them ideal.

At Human First, we believe that the change starts with all of us - challenging our own assumptions, growing our communication skills, owning the energy we are bringing into interpersonal interactions, and modeling the behavior that we want to see more of.

But let’s be real: most of us were never taught how to “people”.

Most of us learned how to check boxes, hit deadlines, and maybe nod along in meetings. But not how to have hard conversations, find our way out of a shame spiral, or lead with compassion, empathy, and healthy boundaries.

That’s where Human First comes in.

We’re here to build the skills we all need to be a little more human at work: showing up with clarity, taking ownership without shame, managing our energy (not just our calendars), and connecting in ways that build trust.

This work starts in the workplace, because that’s where we spend most of our waking hours. But it doesn’t stop there; these are life skills that ripple into our families, friendships, and communities.

We’re not here to preach. We’re here to learn and grow with people, building habits, language, and systems that make being human at work a little more doable (and a lot less draining).

What We Do

Real-world tools for better conversations, stronger relationships, and healthier work

We create spaces where people can grow. Not through vague “soft skills” talk, but through real, practical, human-centered learning. Real-world tools for better conversations, better relationships, and better work.

We offer:

  • On-demand courses for individuals to practice everything from dismantling judgment to having difficult conversations

  • A robust community that allows folks a safe space to practice and discuss what we’re learning, and also has tools, tips, and other resources

  • Virtual events and webinars to share and listen to perspectives on a variety of topics related to work life and interacting more productively

  • Workshops for teams, organizations, and groups; focused on emotional literacy, communication, empathy, values alignment, and human-first leadership

  • 1:1 Coaching for individuals looking to deepen their self-awareness, build people skills, and reconnect with what matters

  • Custom Programs designed in partnership with you, tailored to your needs and the human dynamics you’re navigating

Most of our offerings are available in-person or virtually, and we’re always expanding our catalog as we grow with our community.

What We Believe
